Second half of 10th century – Subordination of Cieszyn by the ruler of Poland -
The Cieszyn land together with all of Silesia found itself within the boundaries of the Polans’ state, created by the first historical ruler of Poland, Prince Mieszko I. This fact was confirmed in a document from 991 called Dagome iudex, in which Mieszko I gave his state under papal protection. In addition, these lands were included in the bishopric of Wrocław established in 1000.
